This is the finest ride on the West Rim of Pennsylvania’s Grand Canyon. The trailhead alone is worth the trip as it sits precariously above the 1,000-foot-deep canyon. Turkey vultures, hawks, and the occasional bald eagle ride thermals up and down the natural chasm as river otters and fishermen try their luck in Pine Creek below. Highlights: mountaintop woodland riding; the impressive Four Mile Vista; the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania with superior views; horseback riding, whitewater boating and fishing; Colton Point State Park. Tread: a high mountain mix of fun singletrack, old woods road, and forest roads.
