Leonard Harrison State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This park offers the absolute best views of Pennsylvania’s Grand Canyon and correspondingly draws bigger crowds than Colton Point State Park, which is on the opposite rim. It helps that the overlooks are just a short walk from the parking lot.
The canyon is managed as a state park natural area these days, meaning that it will be kept in its natural state for future generations. You can learn more about that at the nature center, which is open summer through fall for self- guided visits. From April through October an
environmental educator in residence provides a variety of programs, focusing on everything from old-fashioned cider making to campfire tales to astronomy.
If you want to get away from the crowds, there are trails that lead to scenic vistas and spectacular views, such as the rugged but particularly beautiful Turkey Path Trail."
