This ride is amazingly flat. In 19 miles there is only one hill. It's also a very pretty ride, meandering through some of the best farmland in north-central Pennsylvania. Notice the farms in this valley. PP&L owns some of them and leases them to local farmers, stipulating that they employ modern farming practices such as crop rotation, contour farming, and erosion control. The results of excellent land management are increased yields and better soil fertility. In this verdant valley man and nature do a great job of getting along. The road surface is good.
