Fort Necessity Tour And Woods Walk Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"You can make a day of it by combining history, walking, and driving if you like by beginning at the Fort Necessity–National Road Interpretive and Education and Visitor Center; tour Washington’s Tavern; and take the walk, which incorporates visiting the reconstructed Fort Necessity, the former French Camp, and traces of Braddock’s Road. Continue by driving to the park’s other historic sites, and perhaps along more of our country’s first national road.
Fort Necessity National Battlefield is a national park comprising approximately 900 acres in three separate sites. Start with the visitor’s center at the main site, where Fort Necessity is located. Here, watch the slide presentation, talk to the rangers, and visit the museum to learn about the reason for the battle and construction of Fort Necessity."
