Larnard-Hornbrook County Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This park draws a lot of seasonal campers, who stay the entire summer. The main draw is the North Branch Susquehanna River, which for years has been considered one of, if not the, best smallmouth bass fisheries east of the Mississippi. Ongoing concerns with rising water temperatures farther downstream have tempered that assessment in recent years, but the fishing remains excellent in this stretch.

The park comprises about 30 acres; a little less than half that acreage is an island in the Susquehanna River. Campsites are largely in the open, on the edge of tree lines and hedgerows."
