Since 1975 Shawnee has been a major player in the busy Pocono Mountain alpine ski scene. Situated just off the Delaware River and the New Jersey border, the ski area was originally developed as an amenity for the historic, recently renovated Shawnee Inn. With several large urban markets in under two hours’ drive, Shawnee Development Co. began constructing time shares, cutting new trails, and adding more chair lifts during the 1980s. The resort has added snowtubing to its base area, and hosts ski events nearly each weekend. Parents have the option of dropping off their children at the base lodge’s child care, offered from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. daily. And visitors will find one of the country’s largest rental shops at Shawnee, with over 4,000 sets of every kind of ski and snowboard. This eTrail contains a thorough description of the resort including driving directions, mountain statistics, trail profiles, extensive lodging & dining information, travel tips, and much more.

recently i went with my family of young children to the tubing park at Shawnee, we were super excited to get out there and have fun. after waiting two hours in line with our tubes we were on the hill about to have some fun. When we reached the bottom we were verbally harassed by the young rude staff to move off, we were yelled at for watching as our three year old came down the hill right behind us. safety is important but to be harassed in front of your children is not my idea of a family day out. the harassment continued by the staff who were looking for entertainment and a chance to show their authority. the mountain was good but not a place for a family Bob

Place is pretty bad. If u r into park skip this place. I was in a comp there and the jumps were terrible. There are no steeps or anything really. If u are into flat ice this is ur kind of place.
