Greenwood Furnace State Park

Greenwood Furnace State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"What do you get when you combine a park with a lake, trails, and woods with the remains of an industrial town? Greenwood Furnace State Park. It takes its name from an ironworks that existed here for seventy years in the nineteenth century.

You can explore on your own, take part in one of the historic walking tours offered, or visit the free Old Home Days Heritage Festival held the first weekend in August. Then you’ll find historical interpreters, demonstrations, musical programs, and lots of good food. The park also offers some nice hiking on a variety of trails. There are 25 miles altogether, some hiking only and some open to skiing and snowmobiling in winter."
