Tamanend Park

Tamanend Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This easy hike leads you alongside and through rows of overgrown shrubs and trees that create dark tunnels for you to walk through. These rows of sometimes-exotic plants were planted here in the 1950s by self-taught botanist William Long to introduce new species of trees and shrubs to the Philadelphia area.

On this hike you’ll also have a chance to explore a stone springhouse and a Colonial-era farmhouse and barn that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places."
