Kooser State Park

Kooser State Park Professional Review and Guide

"This is a small park by state standards, but the campground is anything but crowded. There’s plenty of space between sites. This park gets fewer visitors and fewer campers than nearby Laurel Hill State Park, likely because it’s smaller in size with a smaller lake that offers no boating.

If you want to explore, the western edge of the park where the campground is located was where John Kooser, for whom the park is named, first settled in 1867. An Indian battle was later fought on the spot, and arrowheads and other artifacts have been found nearby."
