Big Mill Creek Professional Review and Guide
"This ride was once part of the Ridgeway Mountain Bike Race course. The original course went deep into the National Forest and crossed some private tracts of land. Vegetation has now grown back along the abandoned pipelines and covered parts of the trail, but the front half of the ride still survives and offers some great riding. The course passes along old pipeline singletrack which has exposed the old pipe due to the heavy amount of riding. Skilled bike handling is a must to avoid the heinous tireslides on the old, slippery steel pipe that would otherwise toss you from your bike. Highlights: tight, twisty singletrack with a sweet downhill finish through an older growth stand of conifers; Sandy Beach Recreation Area. Tread: beautiful hardpacked singletrack and grassy power line roads."
