This ride is definitely for bird lovers. Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area is a 5,000-acre preserve dedicated to the propagation and protection of wildlife, particularly geese and ducks. The most common species is the Canada goose. Thousands stop here to feed, and some make this their permanent home. The birds are most plentiful during their migratory flights in spring and fall. The preserve also has walking trails, picnic areas, and a visitors center. You might want to combine this bike ride with a hike. Outside the preserve, the farmlands and small towns of Lebanon County provide a nice place to ride with little traffic. The road surface is good.
