This hike loops through the higher grounds and meadows of the wildflower reserve and the lowlands near Raccoon Creek. The abundance and diversity of wildflowers is truly a treat. The Wildflower Reserve of Raccoon Creek State Park contains more than 500 species of identified plants. The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy originally purchased this 314-acre tract in 1962; the property was transferred to the state and became a part of the park in 1971.
