The Pond hike has a number of side trails, but don’t let it scare you off; it is easy to follow. The River Overlooks hike is very easy to follow and provides panoramic views of the Allegheny River in many spots. Biologist Rachel Carson (1907–1964) was born in Springdale, Pennsylvania. Her dedication to nature and the safety of all species brought her eventual world recognition and a posthumous Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Well maintained trail with beautiful views. The wetlands are peaceful and picturesque. Looking forward to going back this weekend to try and find the waterfalls.
