Gilfillan Trail Loop Trail Professional Review and Guide
"This little trail is easily accessed and easy for young children to walk. Twelve species of trees are identified by colored discs and are described in the township’s map brochure. Wood chips covering the trail provide soft treading for joggers or anyone concerned about avoiding joint injuries. In 1976, Upper Saint Clair purchased nearly 60 acres of land from the Gilfillan family to be used as a park and established the Gilfillan Trail for walking, hiking, jogging, and cross-country skiing. The trail circles through woodlands, in which some of the trees are estimated to be over 400 years old. It also travels along fields and meadows surrounding the adjacent 15-acre Gilfillan Farm, which was left to the Upper Saint Clair Historical Society in 2001 by Margaret Gilfillan."
