Beechwood Farms, at 134 acres, is one of the largest nature reserves and environmental-education centers in western Pennsylvania and is a delight to visit. It’s a wonderful place to bring family members of all ages. The Beechwood Farm Nature Reserve is owned by the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and leased to the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania, which uses it as their headquarters. The property was a part of a larger tract of land that once served as a dairy farm. The reserve itself is being allowed to return to its natural state while providing a sanctuary for humans and wildlife alike. It offers 5 miles of easy hiking trails and a host of environmentaleducation programs and walks.
