Mid-State Trail

Mid-State Trail is a hiking, biking, and horse trail in Centre County, Mifflin County, and Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. It is within Rothrock State Forest, Little Juniata Natural Area, Penn Roosevelt State Park, Bald Eagle State Forest, and Bear Meadows Natural Area. It is 39.3 miles long and begins at 2,413 feet altitude. Traveling the entire trail is 11.0 miles with a total elevation gain of 1,919 feet. Near the trailhead there is parking. Jo Hays Vista and another parking, Indian Wells Vista, Jo Hays Vista, Little Shingletown Trail Vista, and other viewpoints, Beaver Pond and another wetland, and Long Mtn Peak (elevation 2,047 feet) and Bald Mountain (elevation 2,215 feet) can be seen along the trail. There are also screes, a water, a water, and a spring along the trail. Near the end of the trail is an information guidepost.
