Local developer Ray Tuthill opened a small mom-and-pop ski area in the mid-1970s that he dubbed Little Gap, later changing the name to Blue Mountain. Over the years, Blue has made significant upgrades, invested some big bucks, and made great strides in capturing a chunk of the Pocono Mountain ski market. And, it has mastered the art of making and keeping good snow in an area that gets very little help from nature. Blue has three urban markets within its grasp (Allentown, Philadelphia, and Wilmington) and a varied trail network that fits most ability levels. This eTrail contains a thorough description of the resort including driving directions, mountain statistics, trail profiles, extensive lodging & dining information, travel tips, and much more.

Blue is the mountain of choice in the lower poconos. Just 20 minutes from the Lehigh Valley with 1000 vertical feet and 30 trails. The resort offers the only 6 pack detachable high-speed lift in the area as well as phenomenal snow making and a planned expansion with a new trail and village area with condos etc. Blue is a great local mountain. As far as PA is concerned this is as good as it gets.
