Norristown Farm Park

Norristown Farm Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"There was a time when to stroll around a farm in southeastern Pennsylvania, passing fields of growing crops while seeing all kinds of wildlife, would have been a common thing. No, seriously. It’s OK if that seems hard to believe. After all, that time was long, long ago.

This area of the state—home to Philadelphia, the nation’s fifth-largest city, and plenty of suburban sprawl—is densely populated and heavily developed. Agricultural fields have been replaced with housing plans, shopping centers, businesses, and more. That’s just the reality."

You’ll also see some historic buildings along the way, including silos. The oldest building on the property is from 1764! Picnic areas and benches along the trail provide nice spots to stop and overlook Kepner Creek. If you feel like exploring, check out the nature trails and open recreational area off to the right.
