Little Buffalo State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This park—which has a butterfly garden that’s worth a look and a huge swimming pool that can handle almost 1,300 people—is also home to an official Volksmarching trail, created by an affiliate of the American Volksport Association. The group blazes 6.2-and 3.1-mile trails and then holds noncompetitive walks along them.
While you’re here, be sure to look for some of the park’s colorful wildlife too. Ospreys are regular visitors, if not residents, and wood ducks nest in hollow trees on the lake’s edge. Perhaps the most unusual critter—one often caught by children in the streams around the park, especially the channel below the dam—is the red-spotted newt, or red eft."
