The major industry in Myerstown is Bayer Aspirin but this ride won't give you any headaches. Myerstown is a small town in a rich agricultural region, and biking here will take you over country roads and through two small towns. Myerstown Borough park is a place where ducks swim in the creek and the pond. The surrounding countryside is a fine place to spin your wheels on a leisurely ride, and if you like to watch trains, you'll have many opportunities to see them on a busy freight train that runs through the valley. This ride isn't completely flat, but it doesn't have any especially difficult hills, and it has some long, flat stretches. The farms in the region are generally small, and Amish families own many of them. In summer roadside stands offer the harvest directly to buyers. The road surface is good.

Nice, easy trail of 2 loops. First loop is gently rolling hills; a little heavier traffic in a few spots but all the cars gave us very wide berth. Would be a great ride for a beginner's first road bike ride. Stopped for a picnic lunch at the park at halfway. Second half is a little more challenging (we have cruiser bikes) with some bigger hills, but nothing too tough. Nice ride through the area around Myerstown, pretty down by the creek, not real awesome scenery tho. Not a lot of shade.
