Pine Grove Furnace State Park

Pine Grove Furnace State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Site of yet another old ironworks that was turned into a park by the Civilian Conservation Corps, this park is home to the Appalachian Trail Museum. The AT stretches 2,184 miles from Georgia to Maine. The museum sits at about the trail’s midpoint. It offers exhibits, a variety of public programs, and a hands-on area for children.

There are several shorter trails within the park also worth exploring, as well as some interesting fishing and boating. Caledonia has two lakes. The larger, 25-acre Laurel Lake, is good for fishing and paddling. A boat concession caters to those without their own boats."
