Five Mile Woods Nature Preserve Professional Review and Guide
"This preserve is environmentally unique because it lies on the dividing line between the geologically different Atlantic Coastal Plain and the Piedmont Plateau. Parts of the hike are along the coastal plain and others along the plateau. Put simply, the piedmont is more rocky and hilly, while the coastal plain is flat with sandier soil.
Because it’s a nature preserve, the only activities allowed in the park are walking, hiking, and photographing or just enjoying nature. There is no fishing or hunting allowed, and pets and bicycles are forbidden."
