Sunfish Pond County Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This park, as you can tell by the directions to get here, is on top of a rugged mountain in an out-of-the-way location. That means it’s very peaceful and tranquil, if potentially difficult to get to.
Sunfish Pond offers good fishing for stocked trout in spring and warmwater fishing for bass, catfish, and panfish throughout summer. The park is just 70 acres, but it’s surrounded by 50,000 acres of state land, so there’s plenty of space for hiking or riding a mountain bike.
The campground offers a mix of sites—some shaded, some on the edges of tree lines. It also reopens for the state’s two- week deer hunting season in early December."
