Steinman Run Nature Preserve

Steinman Run Nature Preserve Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This lovely hike follows the blue-blazed trail from the parking area along Trout Run to Clear view Road. After crossing Clear view Road, the trail climbs and descends into Steinman Run, which it follows for half a mile before returning to Clear view Road. Crossing the road, it climbs to a high point before descending 0.5 mile to the parking area.

Steinman Run Nature Preserve is a 245-acre tract of wildland that is protected by the Lancaster County Conservancy. This very beautiful hike provides one of those experiences that make you glad for the conservancy’s efforts. In the spring and summer it is rich with birdlife and wildflowers. During autumn the preserve is a great place to take in the fall colors. And if there is enough snow in the winter the trail is suitable for cross-country skiing. Please do your part for helping to keep the experience pleasant for others by staying on the main trail (there are plenty of deer trails), picking up trash, and refraining from crossing onto private land especially in the area of Trout Run."
