Silver Mine Park

Silver Mine Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This pleasant hike takes in most of the varied environments of both the north and south sections of Silver Mine Park in Pequea Township. It begins near the site of the old mine
shaft and kiln on the north side of Silver Mine Road and heads back along an old carriage road to one of the park’s two catch-and-release ponds. The hike makes a wide counter-clockwise loop around the pond before heading over some more uplands and then out to the Hike and Bike Trail trailhead on Silver Mine Road.

The hike follows the Hike and Bike Trail along Pequea Creek to the playing fields on the south side of the park, makes a loop
around the southernmost picnic pavilion, and departs from the Hike and Bike Trail near the south catch-and-release pond, where it crosses Silver Mine Road and returns to the car."

Great trails. Some of the trails run along the road and they are not all marked well and unfortunately they were out of maps, but despite that I did not get lost so that’s a positive for this park? Beautiful ponds and the geology trail makes this super interesting. Some areas are very easy and some areas are pretty challenging so good for all levels. Areas of the park include a playground areas to fish, benches and picnic tables.
