Pennsylvania Dutch Sampler Cruise Professional Review and Guide
"On this ride it is likely you will want to spend as much time off the bike as on, for you will be pedaling through some of the most beautiful Amish farmland in Lancaster County, near or through three of Pennsylvania's several hundred covered bridges, and past plenty of quilts and crafts boutiques. Riding can be hot on very warm summer days. Give yourself time to explore, whether it is taking tours of a working Amish farm and house, wandering through the Amish Village or watching the animated recreation of a class at the Weavertown one-room schoolhouse. Terrain: rolling to hilly. Traffic is light except in the village of Intercourse and while crossing Routes 30, 340, and 741."
--Trudy E. Bell, Best Bike Rides in New York, New Jersey, & Pennsylvania (The Globe Pequot Press).
This is a very nice, pleasant ride; very scenic and not very hilly. My only complaint--which should not be a surprise to anyone who reads the cue sheet is that there are an awful lot of turns. That makes it hard to really get a lengthy head of steam. The one other thing I might note is that this route shares some roads with a few of the others in this region which means that one exhausts the variety in this region more quickly than is readily apparent. All that said, it really is a nice ride.
