Definition of sanctuary: A place of refuge for birds, wild animals, etcetera. Sanctuary is the perfect descriptor for this remote-feeling gem. Consider yourself part of the “etcetera” and relax for a peaceful hike. The Todd Sanctuary came into being when, in 1942, W. E. Clyde Todd, noted ornithologist at Carnegie Mellon University, donated a parcel of land that today has been expanded to 176 acres to the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania.

I go to Todd's Sanctuary all the time and the closest town is Freeport, not Kittanning. Todd's has many different trails; some that many people don't know about. I like to go there and take in all the beautiful scenery around me and smoke a bowl
