Mauch Chunk Lake Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Housed within the park is the Carbon County Environmental Education Center. Open year-round (free) in a former 1920s barn, it hosts a variety of public programs. Of particular note, it also serves as a wildlife rehabilitation center, with a number of live raptors on permanent display.
The 345-acre Mauch Chunk Lake holds bass, pickerel, panfish, and walleyes; Mauch Chunk Creek is stocked with trout each spring. The park loans fishing tackle free of charge. There are also
some great hiking and biking trails. The Switchback Trail, the most popular, leads to Mount Pisgah and a magnificent overlook of Lehigh Gorge State Park.
No pets are allowed."
