Raccoon Creek State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The trail that takes you to the remains of the Frankfort Mineral Springs Resort is neither a long nor a difficult one. It begins across the road from the park office, in a small parking lot on Cabin Road. There’s room for maybe a dozen cars here. That’s usually plenty, except on nice weekends. Then—or when the park, its Friends group, or other organized hiking groups schedule an outing—the springs can draw a crowd.
In that case, park at the office and just walk to the trailhead. The trail goes uphill just a bit at the start, on a grassy track, then parallels a small trickle of a stream and Route 18. That means you’ll hear traffic noise along the way. Still, wildlife is common. White-tailed deer, including fawns, aren’t unheard of in spring and early summer."
