Boiling Springs

Boiling Springs Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This short hike is centered on Children’s Lake in Boiling Springs. The town was established in the 1700s around the iron industry and in the 19th century developed into a vacation spot and recreation area. Today, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Boiling Springs is mostly residential.

The springs that fill Children’s Lake are the highlight of this hike (although stroll would probably be a more accurate description). More than 24,000 gallons bubble up through the ground each day. Parts of the lake are crystal clear, and ducks and geese add to the bucolic setting. The Trail also passes a township park with a restored iron furnace."
