Cedar Creek Park: Gorge Trail Loop Trail Professional Review and Guide
"The trailhead is within spitting distance of the Youghiogheny River Trail and a stone’s throw to the Youghiogheny River. This hike can be easily combined with other outdoor activities or relaxation (see Special Comments in the Key At-a- Glance Information). The trailhead is located at the end of the far parking lot, near the Youghiogheny River, on the river side (eastern) of the Youghiogheny River Trail. There is a sign at the trailhead for the Cedar Creek Gorge Trail and a picnic bench and grill next to the trailhead by the river. Look beyond these, to the right of the trail, and you’ll see a large silver maple. The Cedar Creek Gorge Trail passes underneath the Youghiogheny River Trail and winds southwest to a plaque claiming there’s a 109-year-old apple tree nearby. We had no luck finding it; perhaps you will have better fortune."
