Fredericksburg Professional Review and Guide
"Fredericksburg is a small town that lies at the base of a mountain, and the region around it is a rich agricultural area that's excellent for biking. The scenery is nice and the traffic is light. This ride takes you through Fredericksburg and farm areas, but does not include any mountain climbing. Most of this ride will put you on lightly traveled country roads through cornfield and wooded areas. For much of the ride you'll be on Mountain Road, but Mountain Road isn't mountainous.
Actually, it runs along the base of the mountain, and it's pretty flat. Fredericksburg itself is a major agribusiness center. In addition to the farms that surround the town, several large agricultural businesses operate here. The main street is wide, with an old hotel, restaurant, and stores. Fredericksburg is generally a placid place, but not on the third Saturday in September it gets a little wild with the Hinkle Fest, a country fair with rides, food and a 5km foot race. The road surface is good."
