Sinnemahoning State Park

Sinnemahoning State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Opportunities to see wildlife are a big reason to visit Sinnemahoning State Park. There are bald eagles (you can see a nest from the hiking trail along the dam breast), otters, a growing elk herd (look for them in spring along the Low Land Trail, at the Forty Maples picnic area, and at the park’s wildlife viewing area), deer, bears, coyotes, bobcats, songbirds, butterflies, and more.

To enhance all that, and because this park is at the very center of the Pennsylvania Wilds, it’s home to a new 9,300-square-foot wildlife center. Set to open fully in spring of 2013, it will feature interactive exhibits, displays, and programs. Designers are hoping it will help spread the park system’s conservation message. While you’re here, be sure to fish for trout and smallmouth bass in Sinnemahoning Creek."
