Mahoning Creek Lake–Milton Loop Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This lake, located among steep- sided, wooded hills, is a favorite of paddlers and other small boat owners because it restricts boats to no more than 10 horsepower. The various bays, inlets, and other nooks and crannies upstream and down of the campground offer some spectacular scenery, especially when the hills are ablaze in fall color, and are tranquil and fun to explore.

Paddling here is more comparable to floating a wide, lazy river—which of course it is—than paddling a big lake. The fishing is pretty good too, especially for bass, walleyes, channel catfish, panfish, and northern pike. The outflow area has a fishing pier for those with special needs. If you want to hike, a portion of the 141-mile Baker Trail passes through the campground. There’s also a wildlife area nearby."
