Ski Denton Ski Area Professional Review and Guide
"Ski Denton resides in a remote mountain stretch of north-central Pennsylvania’s snow country. Commercial skiing began here after a state study in the 1950s determined the property was a natural fit for alpine and Nordic skiing with its heavy snowfall and north-facing mountain. Beginning with just a few trails, a poma tow lift, and no snowmaking, Pennsylvania’s park service ran the operation for 20 years. The state then decided the venture wasn’t worth running in the red, selling off the property to a few small interest groups.
After twice closing shop with no one to take the lease, locals Mike and Joyce Kneffley turned the fledgling business around and have run the mountain ever since as a private concession within Denton Hill State Park. This eTrail contains a thorough description of the resort including driving directions, mountain statistics, trail profiles, extensive lodging & dining information, travel tips, and much more."
