The infamous Grave Ridge Trail, in the heart of the Michaux State Forest, is a trail to be reckoned with. Eighteen miles of some of the most technical singletrack in the state make up this stout route. The entire ride runs on the Michaux State Forest ATV trail system, which is frequently traveled by four-wheelers. Due to the technical difficulty of most trails, you won’t likely find the ATV riders screaming past you at insane speeds, but puttering by as they negotiate the burly obstacles on the trail.
Highlights: the most technical ride in Pennsylvania, the infamous Grave Ridge Trail; beautiful hemlock and laurel forest, cool stream crossing, shared ATV trails, historic Pine Grove Furnace State Park nearby with swimming at two separate lakes, restrooms, concessions, boat and bike rental, rock climbing atop Pole Steeple. Tread: the entire ride follows the Michaux State Forest ATV trail system. The trails are a combination of a smooth dirt fire road and extremely rugged ATV doubletrack.
