Money Rocks County Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This hike begins with a short walk from the parking area out to the Money Rocks Overlook, and then heads west on the Cockscomb Trail. From the Cockscomb area, it heads north and west along the hillside. At a T-intersection, it descends north to the Iron Horse Trail. After completing the Iron Horse Trail loop, this hike returns to the Cockscomb Trail, and completes that loop by climbing out of a hollow and along the ridge back to the Cockscomb outcrop.
After enjoying the view, make your way back through the forest of white oak, black birch, and mountain laurel to the red-blazed Cockscomb Trail and turn right (west). This trail follows the flat ridge for 0.3 mile to a junction with a dirt road that is posted with private property signs. Bear right and follow the red blazes over to the edge of the ridge where the Cockscomb Trail begins a gentle descent along the north-facing hillside."
