Twin Lakes Recreation Area

Twin Lakes Recreation Area Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"So where’s the “twin” at Twin Lakes? It was never built. The existing lake was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1936, but the money for its twin was diverted to create Loleta Recreation Area instead.

Twin Lakes offers a little bit of everything and draws very big, consistent crowds as a result. It has a small spring-fed, trout-stocked lake that’s popular with families and is especially productive in spring. Mill Creek offers angling for native trout. You can also swim, play, and hike on the Twin Lakes and Black Cherry Trails. The latter is an interpretive walk offering forty educational displays along the way."
