"A beautiful trail up a creek, past a lake, and over ash fields to the rim of a giant caldera with a commanding view of Lake Harriette, largest in the Mountain Lakes Wilderness and one of the most beautiful anywhere. Options to Aspen Butte (highest point in the Wilderness), Lake Harriette, and the Mountain Lakes Loop. The Mountain Lakes Wilderness began in 1930 as one of the first three Primitive Areas in the Pacific Northwest set aside by the USDA Forest Service.
