Upper Sky Lakes Basin Professional Review and Guide
"For the Sky Lakes Basin’s most scenic and lakefilled area, continue on the Sky Lakes Trail north from Upper Heavenly Twin Lake. The mostly level path winds through a hemlock and lodgepole pine forest, over moraine boulder fields and past the oddly named Lake Land, with a couple of impressive glimpses eastward into Wizard Lake and Cherry Creek. After 1 mile or so, Mount Luther (7,163 feet) pops briefly into sight, then disappears, only to return as Trapper Lake is approached. Trapper Lake is easily the basin’s prettiest and among the most scenic in the wilderness. It’s also among the basin’s larger lakes, about the same size as Isherwood and Margurette. Highlights: Gorgeous big blue lakes and high mountains in the Sky Lakes’ namesake basin."
