Washougal River: Doc’s Drop to Dougan Falls Professional Review and Guide
"This run is a favorite for thrill seekers who like to run waterfalls in catarafts, self-bailing rafts, and kayaks. Most of the waterfalls have shallow landings that discourage a lot of kayakers from making the run.
Because the run is short and quick, it can be added to the Washougal River: Dougan Falls to Salmon Falls run. From the put-in, the action begins immediately with Doc’s Drop, a 10- foot drop on a boulder ledge. Downstream 0.5 mile is Reeder Falls, a 4-foot drop just above the bridge. Just below the bridge is Naked Falls, a 15-foot drop over a few ledges, which should be run center because the left is suicidal. The 1.8 miles of class 1 and 2 water that follow allow time to think about Dougan Falls, the grand finale, a 15-foot drop over two ledges. Dougan Falls is normally run close to the right bank. Character: forested."
