Big Eddy Professional Review and Guide
"This large, mostly shaded family campground sits where an eddy occurs along a snaking bend of the Nehalem River. Sites have gravel parking spurs. Ample lawn and tall firs and cedars contribute to the camp atmosphere, and alders and bigleaf maples grow riverside. The river is open to drift boats and canoes, and fishing is popular. Vernonia may beckon a visit, with its Banks–Vernonia State Trail, the Vernonia Days celebration in August, and the Columbia County Historical Museum."
