Cow Hollow County Park

Vale, Oregon

Cow Hollow County Park Professional Review and Guide

"This rural 20-acre, lawn-and-shade-tree camp provides an oasis and base for exploring the southeast desert. Northbound, Lytle Boulevard parallels the historic Oregon Trail, with historic wagon ruts, interpretive panels, and an overlook trail at Keeney Pass. During the Depression a Civilian Conservation Corps camp operated at what is now the park to improve area irrigation. In World War II the site became an internment camp for Japanese-Americans, with workers laboring in the sugar beet industry."
