Thief Valley Recreation Area Professional Review and Guide
"This shadeless flat overlooks the broad, open water of Thief Valley Reservoir, built for irrigation and open to recreation. Low sage-grass ridges shape the basin, while a few willows cluster along the lake rim. The reservoir is open for boating, fishing, swimming, and windsurfing. The jetty offers fishing access for individuals with disabilities. Some big trout are pulled from the reservoir, but by June an algae bloom overtakes the lake, ending the catch. In winter the lake is open for ice fishing."
