This rustic camp offers a peaceful retreat among the pines and firs, while the large flat gives horse trailers maneuvering room. Generally the camp is lightly trafficked, serving hunters in the fall. Mule deer and Rocky Mountain elk dwell in the area of the camp, and 11 miles south via FR 5316 (not suitable for RVs) is Potamus Point, which delivers an overlook of the John Day River drainage and interesting rock formations.
