The Trask River flows through a steep coastal canyon and ends in Tillamook Bay. The canyon is heavily wooded with a mixture of evergreen and hardwood trees. In fall, the river corridor is ablaze with color as leaves from deciduous trees turn brilliant autumn shades. Mist-covered mountains rise sharply form the valley, giving paddlers breathtaking views on the drive up. Most of the river's commonly traveled stretches are shaded by the folded hills and tree-lined banks. May waterfalls pour into the flow.
