Bayocean Peninsula

Bayocean Peninsula Professional Review and Guide

"The trail starts at Bayocean parking lot, which is 7 miles Northwest of Tillamook in Northwest Oregon. Tread: Gravel road with sandy sections, closed to motorized vehicles. Hazards: the trail is popular, so watch for other users.

The ride from the north end of the parking lot passes through beach grass, sand dunes, salal thickets, and forest before reaching the jetty. The last few hundred yards to the jetty may be covered with soft sand. You can add a couple miles to this ride by starting at the Pitcher Point pullout. Pitcher
Point has an interpretive sign that summarizes the history of Bayocean. The ride to the Bayocean parking lot provides views of Cape Meares Lake."
