Memaloose State Park

Memaloose State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This park takes the name of a Columbia River island that was used by Native Americans as a sacred burial ground and was flooded with the damming of the river. The landscaped camp rests above the river and below the freeway; planted shade trees bring added comfort to a stay. With no river access at the park, visitors must seek their entertainment away from the campground. The Columbia Gorge welcomes fishing, hiking, boating, windsurfing, and sightseeing. Historic The Dalles and its Columbia Gorge Discovery Center warrant a look."
