Steamboat, Oregon

Island Professional Review and Guide

"This campground is cut into a slope between OR 138 and the North Umpqua Wild and Scenic River, a blue-ribbon fly-fishing stream that has attracted the likes of author Zane Grey. Firs, maples, dogwoods, and the song of the river add to the camp’s appeal. When river levels are adequate, you can make a 2- to 3-hour float trip between Horseshoe Bend Raft Put-in (6.5 miles east on OR 138) and Gravel Bin Raft Takeout (0.2 mile west of camp)."
