Dorris Ranch Loop

Dorris Ranch Loop Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This is an easy path that visits a historic, turn-of-the-century ranch, many beautiful old hazelnut (filbert) orchards, and the riparian zone along the Willamette River. There is an excellent river view at the halfway point. The hazelnut farm is still very much in operation.

Dorris Ranch was established in 1892 and became the largest hazelnut farm in the nation’s top hazelnut-producing state. It is still an operating hazelnut ranch; hence, the name “Living History Farm.” The ranch covers 258 acres, 71 of which are planted in hazelnut orchards. The orchards are extremely elegant and stately."
